I’m going to tell you a secret that I learned from my experience when trying to build my credit:
It just takes some time.
You might be reading this, and not know where to start.
I struggled early on just trying to just figure out what credit was all about. I knew that you needed “credit” if you wanted to buy things, but I had no idea what that meant.
What is credit?
Have you ever borrowed something from a friend with the promise of giving it back later? The payback may have included a little more, just for letting your borrow in the first place. For example, you ask your friend for a dollar, and when you pay them back they say, dollar fifty. That’s the cost of borrowing.
Well, congratulations, you’ve just established your credit! You borrowed something. Now, your credit worthiness depends on if you can pay back on the nice deed.
What that means is covering the initial cost plus the fee your friend incurred on you to borrow in the first place.
This is the basics of credit.
